Last Word
This prohibition-era classic is delightfully citrusy, herbaceous, and complex thanks to the Green Chartreuse, maraschino liqueur, and fresh lime juice.
It was first served at the Detroit Athletic Club in 1915, disappeared into the cocktail void in the 40s/50s, and re-emerged at Seattle’s Zig Zag Café in the 80s. Since then, it’s been celebrated for the amazing cocktail that it is.
Makes 1 serving
Ingredients:
- 3/4 oz Gin (I used @highclerecastlegin )
- 3/4 oz Green Chartreuse
- 3/4 oz Maraschino Liqueur
- 3/4 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
2. Add ice and shake until well chilled.
3. Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
