That Cocktail Life

Tipperary

In honor of International Whiskey Day, I’m trying and sharing some classic whiskey cocktails that you may not have heard of or tried.

Let’s start with the Tipperary. It’s a riff on another classic, the Bijou, and a close cousin of the classic Manhattan.

It’s made with Irish whiskey (in homage to the song it’s named after, “It’s a Long Road to Tipperary”, and the county in Ireland), sweet vermouth, green Chartreuse, and Angostura bitters.

If you’re a fan of Manhattans and chartreuse, this one’s for you.

Makes 1 serving

Ingredients:

- 1.5 oz Irish whiskey (I used @jjcorrywhiskey )

- 1 oz sweet vermouth

- 0.5 oz green Chartreuse

- 2 dashes Angostura bitters

- Orange twist for garnish

Directions:

1. Add ingredients into a mixing glass with ice.

2. Stir until well-chilled.

3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

4. Express the oils from an orange twist over the glass and discard.

Cheers!
